This beer sits with a pretty clear, red color and is topped by a thin, wispy, tan, ring shaped head that clings to the edges of the glass. There is a definite raspberry aroma; it smells like raspberry syrup and not much else.
The taste is lightly sweet up front and it gets sweeter as it passes through my mouth. The body seems light at first but picks up some heft from the malt sweetness that is found in this brew. The raspberry notes are definitely the dominant flavors found in this beer, though not as much as the aroma might have suggested. Raspberry character adds a touch of acidity to the finish. This is a light and easy drinking beer and the raspberry is not too overwhelming for e. Nice and clean fermentation character with no real flaws detectable. Having said that, this beer really does not do much for me, but I am a bit adverse to raspberry flavored beers. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Feb 23, 2007 Tap @TCB. About half and half fresh raspberry and cough syrup on the aroma and flavor. Good tangy acidity though. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jan 9, 2007 Tap @ Brewery. Good red raspberry patch aroma. Red body with a small pink head that left some lacing. Flavor had good amout of carbination and was more like a raspberry fruit jucie with some alcohol. Medium raspberry left on plate with a little dryness. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Dec 29, 2006 On tap at TCB - Pours a slightly hazy reddish-amber color with a faint light tan head. No lacing. Has a light berry aroma. Has a light raspberry flavor. This beer was a little more bitter than I expected. Light body. Nothing fancy, but worth a try.
