Bought a growler from the brewery. Aroma of chocolate and roast was standout and bold. Black body with medium tan creamy head. Only thing lacking was high amout of lacing. Flavor was of rich choclate and some mild sweetness to it. Had the taste of chocolate milk. Full bodied beer. Left a roasty sweet aftertaste. Smooth beer for high alcohol content. Ever get to Tucson this would be a beer to get.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (300508)

Jun 8, 2008 Courtesy of Papsoe, growler. It’s brown/black and the aroma has notes of roasted malt and licorice. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, light hints of smoke, licorice, a light bitterness and hints of alcohol. It’s very harmonic and nice and the body is very full!

Jun 2, 2008 Bottled. Flat deep brown colour. Roasty chocolate aroma with a touch of sourness. Thin mouthfeel. Roasty flavour with some coffee and chocolate. Too bad is was too flat....
