Commercial Description:
Winner of the BRONZE award in the Imperial Stout Category at the 2000 World Beer Cup International Beer Competition. Russian Imperial Stouts were originally brewed for export to the Royal Court of Russia where they were enjoyed by Catherine the Great. Ours has a rich intense maltiness with black currant, toffee and dark roasted malt flavors. The higher alcohol content is sure to warm you up from the inside out.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of roasted malt, but also light notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet and very roasted with notes of alcohol and chocolate.

(Growler 64 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Pours black and opaque with a small, light brown head. Sweet aroma of burned malt and vanilla. Very rich and solid body with sweetish burned malt and lots of licorice. Some malt astringency in the finish. A pleasant and well balanced imperial stout. 190408

Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #28: Pours dark brown with a diminished light brown head. Smooth and chocolate malt aroma with a light roasted note. Flavour is like a classic imperial stout with a solid chocolate and roasted malt flavour. Light bitterhops note providing a nice break in the malt dense flavours. Dry and roasted malt finish with a light chocolate note.

Black color with a virtually none appearance, virtually none lancing, fully diminishing, light brown to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (300508)

Dark brown color. It has the character of a watewred down Danish coffee, with light phenolic aroma, a lot of caramel flavor and sweetness. Pleasant.
