Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Mar 26, 2006 On tap at Crescent Moon Alehouse, 3/25/06: Light orange color with just a wisp of a head. Nice chewy hop character with a little citric bitter twist to finish it off. Very good. HogTownHarry (3186), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 6, 2006 Updated: Jun 8, 2006Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, my bottle. Slightly hazy orange with a small rocky head. Fruity/herbaly hopppy aroma, sweet and grainy. Taste is sweet, candyish with a very bitter finish and aftertaste. Didn’t really care for it. Sledge Jr (2713), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Feb 28, 2004 Updated: Sep 13, 2007Fine example of the style: good finishing hop aroma, but not dry hopped as far as I can tell. Solid measure of boiling hops. Copper/amber in appearance. Good head retention. UPDATE 9/13/7: Nitro pushed version of IPA on tap at the brewpub. Smoother and creamier. Tiny bubbles and thick head. Still a delicious beer. blankboy (2565), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 12, 2006 Bottle shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a cloudy orange with a small diminishing white head. Aroma of malt, faint hops and some fruit. Watery flavour of grain with some malt and light on the hops. Pretty mediocre in my opinion. pivo (2486), Germany Dec 7, 2006 Metallic nose, gold color, creamy frothy head. Quick sweet apricot note gets quickly overpowered but a huge, mouth-filling bitter. Not a good hop bitter - just bitter bitter. Thinish, body and an off balance. I love big bold IPAs. Normally, they can’t be hoppy or bitter enough for me. But it has to be a good bitter. This really gives IPAs a bad name and, without checking, it is for sure the lowest score I’ve ever given an IPA. Haven’t been in the States for a while at the time of rating this and this was first American micro I tried much to my dissappointment.
