rkuhnel (1144), Eureka, California, USA Aug 10, 2006 On draft at the Chicken Coop in Grand Island, Nebraska. Came a very ligtht yellow. No head to speak of. Slight lemon nose. Not a lot of flavor. Maybe Kolsch’s are not my thing because I liked everything else this brewpub served better than this one. Drink something else. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Aug 8, 2006 On tap at the Chicken Coop in Grand Island. Pours bright, bright yellow (in fact, a fluorescent banana yellow) with a super thin little white head of no repute. The beer was served so cold that no initial aroma could be discerned. When warmed, a soapy aroma enmerges with a bit of lemon. This beer is unlike just about any kölsch I’ve ever had, and that ain’t good. Has a super thin body. Pronounced out-of-place tartness. The warmed flavor tastes like "lemon-freshened borax." A fairly dissatisfying beer. Good thing it is served at a place called the Chicken Coop because Trevor laid an egg with this one.
