Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Nov 26, 2006 Updated: Jan 11, 2007On tap at Jia Jia’s in Lincoln. I’m told that Bob Meyer has this beer made for him at Thunderhead. Dark brown with a thin off-white head. The head subsides rapidly. Has an aroma of raisins, prunes, and plums. A a very faint vinegar aroma. The palate is rich and thick with a big alcohol burn (9% ABV). Very sweet with a nice tongue tingle. The prune juice flavor is very strong. Mild carbonation. This beer becomes absolutely mouth numbing after awhile. The only detration to this beer is a slight soapy taste. The pronounced cocoa flavor is nice. UPDATE: Served on tap at Thunderhead brewpub in Kearney, this beer is called "Belgian Dubbel."
