iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 23, 2009 On tap @ the brewpub. Minimally hazy orange with a one finger soapy white head, pretty good retention. Oh, and there’s some tiny particulate dark matter in there which looks like hops. Lots of citrus and grapefruit up front with a light caramel malt backbone. The flavor follows suit with a light grassy/herbal dry hop note, also some light florals. Bitterness peaked at a 4. Light carbonation with a light to medium body. Good beer. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 18, 2007 (Draught) Pours a lightly cloudy golden body with a moderate white head. Aroma of light citrus, grass, floral, and toasted caramel. Flavor of orange, breadiness, caramel, and pine hoppiness. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 23, 2007 On tap at the 2007 Nebraska Craft Brewer’s festival in Omaha. Pours light amber with a medium to thin off white head. A fine wall of lacing remains in the glass. Beer has a very good floral and grapefruit aroma. Very thick and chewy palate. Very big malt bill to this one. Strong orange-chocolate tootsie roll flavor that typically comes from a double IPA. Great residual hoppy pine and citrus finish. This was my beer of the show.
