Oxymoron (104), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Mar 17, 2008 A hazy golden color with limited head and lacing. The head does dissipate but does not completely go away. The lace however doesn’t last. The smell is limited. Some citrus with a stronger lemony aroma. Not much wheat at all.
The taste is very basic. A good hop zing to it. Not really lemony but definitely a citrus tang to it. The malt is nothing spectacular but still supports the hops. The wheat flavor is not present at all. Take this not in a bad way but kind reminds me of a Coors Light. The body is light and the carbonation is big. Talking to the bartender, this is the beer that they usually served to those who enjoy the American macros (Coors, Bud, etc). Which is a great many in Nebraska, so take it for what it is. jbean (109), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 22, 2007 On draft at brewpub. Light golden color, thin head, almost no aroma, syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor is awful, straight sugar. rkuhnel (1064), Eureka, California, USA Aug 10, 2006 On draft at the Chicken Coop in Grand Island, Nebraska. Golden color and slightly cloudy with a nice white head and good lacing . Aroma was mild but clearly of malts wth a touch of honey. Very clean mouthfeel, and exceptionallly smooth going down. Great finish. This is a very nice America Wheat and remarkably easy to drink. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jun 26, 2005 Nebraska Craft Brewers Festival: Murky golden color with a thin head. Sugary sweet honey flavors. Bit syrupy. Just OK. Sledge Jr (2708), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 3, 2004 On tap at the brewpub. 6.5% ABV. Pale gold in color. White head with big bubbles. No aroma. Up front honey sweetness. Effervescent palate. Generous amount of honey in this ale, but still finishes with a tartness. Very drinkable and pleasant ale due to the higher alcohol and sweet flavor due to the larger honey content than you usually get in a brewpub ale. No braggot mind you, but real good nonetheless.
