heavy (536), Split, Croatia Nov 26, 2008 29/10 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks a lot for sharing! My first Roggen. It poured brownish red body with smaller beige head. Roast caramel malt aroma, with some spicy things. Flavor is pleasant, dominated by caramel again, sweetish with a bit lighter body than expected and a bit lower carbonation. Pretty sweet finish, in fine caramel way. Nice beer, I like it and looking forward to taste more examples of this interesting style. larsga (2447), Oslo, Norway Oct 14, 2008 Big darkish beige lasting head. Barely translucent dark brown body. Deep, full roasty malty earthy aroma with banana and rye notes. Dry and lightly acidic banana taste, kind of empty and very full-bodied. Surprisingly light, given the strong aroma. Light clean palate. Oily mouthfeel. Dry roasty chocolatey rye aftertaste lingers for a long time, leaving a burnt austere note at the end. Taste settles in the mouth as you drink. Nice, drinkable, and unusual. (0.5l bottle, Paulaner Restaurants, Leipzig.) armando629 (511), Budapest, Hungary Oct 1, 2008 Nice appearance with a dark amber-reddish body and a small beige head. Rye- bready and spicy aroma with some banana and caramel. The flavor is sweet and spicy like liquid rye bread. Smooth mouthfeel, exciting aromas and flavor. omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 15, 2008 Bottled at Café Abseits, Bamberg. Mahogany colour, small head.
