imdownthepub (4017), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England May 20, 2008 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Chestnut with thin head. I’m really not sure whether the Mild style lends itself to pasteurised bottling. Ok, this has a higher ABV and is probably more Brown Ale than Mild, but the flavours come over harsh and tinny instead of fruity, choclatey. Slight acidity in the finish, its struggling to be a decent beer, but not there. Maria (3975), Thisted, Denmark Feb 1, 2008 Mahogany with a nice, golden head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and light sweetness. The flavour is slightly sweet with loads of roasted malt, caramel and a dry, citrussy finish. 1726 RichardGretton (2624), Leicestershire, England Jan 25, 2008 Bottle. Reddish black beer with a good head. The aroma is lightly roasted, and the flavour is dry, malty and roasted. Overall a reasonable roasted slightly sweet and dry beer.
