SilkTork (3941), Rochester, Kent, England Oct 16, 2005 George V, Brompton. A lovely soft and darkly malty best bitter with the hops well soaked into the malt. Mmm, very yummy. Long lingering hop soaked malt flavours - chocolate, fruit, tree bark, it’s all here and it all blends well. Enough individual flavours to keep the flavour spotter happy, yet a great drink as well. Awesome.
maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Oct 30, 2006 Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton. A darkish brown coloured beer with a whitish head. No aroma at all. Taste is dry and a little nutty. Some bitterness also but just dull and boring. DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jan 30, 2006 Cask Handpump at the Penny Black, Northwich 10/07/2005
Mid brown coloured and slightly strong in alcohol. Citrus aroma. Some bitterness in a dry malt finish. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Nov 7, 2005 Casl conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Initially full \nd rounded with toffee and bitter hops. Thins out slightly but retains balance. haddonsman (1191), Derby, Derbyshire, England Oct 24, 2005 Cask (handpulled) at the Babington Arms Derby. Tacky, sickly, aroma. Rather sludgy fruit flavours, bottom of barrel stuff. For all these faults it delivered a half decent sweet malt finish, looks like I may have caught this on a bad day.
