Ethereal (894), London, Greater London, England Dec 26, 2007 Gravicask at The Bricklayers Arms Lancashire Fest, 15th Sept 2007. Looks like cold tea and tastes like it too. The thin palate also helps it feel like tea. Does it smell like tea? No, it smells of sulphur and potato! I really feel sorry for you if this is your local session bitter. Mes_and_Sim (4360), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 22, 2007 A Mes rate:
Gravicask at The Bricklayers Arms Lancashire Fest. Tea brown colour. Sulphur kills most of what is decent about the aroma. Tea and floral hops make up the flavour. Very dull. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Jul 2, 2007 Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Quite thin with light malt a little yeast caramel and a not quite big enough hint of hops. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Dec 25, 2006 Cask (handpump) at GBBF, August 2006. Surprised I hadn’t rated this before. Even more surprised to be drinking this at GBBF, but stocks were running low and the excessive crowds left us grabbing anything we could without a ten minute wait. Copper colour with a creamy, sparkled head. No aroma to speak of. Sweetish, with very little hop character or bitterness. Dull as ditchwater, without being actively unpleasant.
Rune (1653), Tromsø, Norway Oct 12, 2006 Half on cask. Dark brown. Missing head. Light aroma of dark malt and some sweetness. Mild caramel flavour. Slightly bitter ending. Smooth. Medium level of carbonation. Thin to medium palate. Noting more than an average bitter (Pillars of Hercules, Soho 18.09.2006).
