| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2002 Amber colour, fast dying head. Still a 4 for appearance, beautifull real ’Amsterdam-styled’ bottle. Amberlike, sweet smell, so far not much of a ’blond beer’ detected. And even the taste is more amber (like a Palm); Sweet, hop-bitterness, easy drinkin. palate is off; tends to get a little sour. (Rerate a bit later; now the beer is warmer and i the palate is much better, more soften and well balanced.) harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2003 This was the most interesting bottle of beer I have ever seen so it definitely gets point for that. The pour is a hazy golden amber with a big frothy head, and an aroma of fresh cut roses perhaps, but very floral and fragrant. An axtremely yeasty flavor, that reminds me of biscuits, very bready and a watery almost skunky flavor at times, but lots and lots of fruit, mostly grapes and pears. A very dry bittersweer finish to round this one out. Not very strong alchohol, but something about this one really had me going, I went right to sleep after drinking it. biermonk (259), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 18, 2004 Poured a dark amber color with no head whatsoever. Aroma is primarily of malt. Flavors consist of some sweet maltiness that is followed by hints of vanilla and some subtle fruit tones. Overall this is not a bad beer. TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2003 Pours a light amber with a short lived head. Difficult to put my finger on the aroma. Flavor is decidedly sweet and malty with little balance from the hops. Tends to leave a sticky sweetness in the finish. Extra points given for the cool and unusual bottle shape. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2004 First off, love the bottle - looks like a lighthouse - or maybe a baby bottle? Aroma has a slight licorice bent to it, otherwise, nothing really jumps out - not unpleasant. Light amber appearance, with a very thin white head. Flavor has some candy sweet notes to it with some syrupy sweetness. Good sticky mouthfeel, coats your mouth and your belly. Overall, a decent light Belgian Ale. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 20, 2004 An amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet dominated by caramel. The flavor is also dominated by sweet caramel combined with honey, yeast, and hints of hops. An OK beer. Beutiful bottle. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2004 Apperance is a deep amber and the bottle looks like a lighthouse I kid you not. Aroma is a bit musky with some malty notes. Flavor has a slight sour character with a vanilla and sour fruit flavor. In that strange Orval kind of way I enjoyed this beer!
