Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 5, 2009 On tap. Clear warm amber golden with an off-white head. Sweet aroma of roasted malt and a little nuts. Medium body, roasted malt and a little burned caramel. Again basically no bitterness. 250709 SamGamgee (1394), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Sep 3, 2009 Draught at Palapas as "Tied House Brown Ale" by Redwood Coast Brewing Company. Medium brown color with a lasting medium head that leaves plenty of lace. The aroma is a bit subdued; just some toasty and light chocolate-roast malt. The flavor is a pretty nice balance of caramel malt sweetness and dryer chocolate and dark toast, with just enough hops to balance but not really be noticeable. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Decent brown ale with a nice toast thing going, but nothing special. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 28, 2009 From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is mild acidic pinewood hoppy and with a hint of roasted malt. Teabag like hops flavoured. Smooth malt flavoured finish with a subdued hops note. Ungstrup (14723), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 14, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. An amber beer with a small tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and some fruit and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and nuts, leading to a dry nutty finish. Dredd (484), Ormond, Australia Apr 19, 2009 Nice beer, aroma is sweet malts with a hint of molasses. Appearence is copper with thin copper head. Flavour is sweet malts with low carbonation giving the right mouthfeel and finishes with a touch of rounding bitterness. nickd717 (1265), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 10, 2009 On tap at Tied House in Mountain View. This is in the dictionary under "average beer." Reddish-brown appearance with an off-white head. Sweet malt on the aroma. Mellow, but has weak caramel malt flavor and hardly any hops. I could take it or leave it. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 17, 2008 Draught at GABF 2008.
Clear golden coloured with a small beige head.
Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel.
Fruity flavour of spices with roasted notes and notes of yeast.
Yeasty finish. jthg (66), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 10, 2008 The aroma on this dark amber ale is of scotch. ALMOST overpowering. The taste is light. Not much body. From the aroma, I would expect more complex maltiness from this beer. Slightly below average.
