Commercial Description:
It gives you a full mouth feel, yet leaves your pallet with a clean finish. The dark roasted malts are mild tasting and never overpowering. This is not a heavy dark beer.

This is a great mellow brown ale and the balance is perfect, not too overpowering/unbalanced like some other brown ales (Newcastle). This would be a great session beer!

Probably the best from Tied House. Not too hoppy which is strange for a West Coast beer. Nice malty goodness. Beautiful color. Velveety mouth feel. Tied House simply has the best beer prices for a brew pub in the Bay Area. $6 growlers!

(Sampler at the San Jose location) Ironwood Dark is a mohaghany ale with a small, creamy white head. The aroma is mellow and piney. The palate is pretty smooth and medium light; perhaps a bit chalky. The flavor is fresh and crisp... perhaps a bit disjointed?

A decent brown ale. Aroma is sweet and apperanace is brown with a thin lacey head. Mouthfeel is a little sharp. Flavor is kind of weak and doesnt have a long lasting hoppy flavor like most.

On tap. Dark brown body with decent off-white head. Nice, mild brown ale with a light roasted taste. The best so far from Tied House brewpub.

Draft at the San Jose brewery. This one had a little bit more chutzpah than 6 of the 8 wallflowers that came out with it in the sampler rack. Some body, a little carb, and a whiff of aroma on the nose. Grass would be that whiff. Grass and hay step up in the mid-palate, with that fresh-cut summer lawn for a finish. Not my favorite brown, but showing some identity here at the Tied House.

Very MEDIOCRE beer. It sounds so much better on the menu than it actually tastes. Has some very strange tastes and the malts are just blah.
