Commercial Description:
Three monkeys brewed this Black IPA and they are within this lively bottle. So, if you choose to pop the cork, be prepared for, "Menage a Singe" - a house full of monkeys. Upon opening, we suggest: Keep your monkeys away from strangers, they bite. Monkeys shatter lamps, use candle light. Have plenty of space, monkeys like to swing. Do you want monkeys in your house? Drink up! And good luck!

Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours tall infected looking billowing tan head and garnet body. The aroma has loads of malts and some roast as well as caramel and a touch of coffee. The taste has lots of maltiness and roasty malts mixing with black tea and spicy hops. The hops pick up some midway and into the finish with spice, flowers, earthiness and building Noble hop like bitterness. Interesting brew.

From a 750 ml corked and caged bottle. You should be very careful opening this one. I pulled off the wire cage and was holding the bottle at an angle pointed away from me reading the label when the cork came flying out like a bullet missing my sister-in-law’s head by inches. This was followed by an endless snake of foam the made it very difficult to pour the beer. After fifteen minutes (yes it really took that long) I finally had a pint glass to drink. Way too much carbonation. In the pint glass it was a cloudy brown brew under a ton of foam. This nose was of ripe fruits and some floral hops. The body was medium to thick and the mouthfeel was creamy. The flavor had toffee hints and again ripe fruit. Not much hops in the taste. It was under $5 at BevMo in Santa Rosa and drinkable, but that flying cork and long wait for the beer to show up under the foam was a bit of a downer.

Darker pour, Fluffy white head, dark malts, citrusy hops, cigarette?, almost like an ashtray taste in the finish, wierd. Nice hop flavor here but having trouble with the finish

Pours brown red with a giant tan head. I figured this was hugely infected, but it wasn’t, then i figured it was insanely over carbonate, but nope. Weird. Nose was floral and citrus hops. Flavor was sweet malt, weak hop flavor and bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Pours a dark brown to light black color with massive tan foamy head. Aroma is sweet and floral with initial notes of malt and chocolate that transition to floral hops, pine, grapefruit, light spice. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of floral hops, chocolate, pine, caramel, light citrus and floral esters. Medium body with a malty, slightly bitter finish. Interesting ale.

For a black IPA, its surprisingly not black, it pours a boring like a cola, with a massive tan foamy head. Nose is Chocolate covered hops, it says dry hopped on the bottle, but the aroma is sad, Taste is heavy with pale chocolate malt and hop bitterness with little else. There is nothing IPA about it other than bitterness. Bottle was WAAAAYYYYY overcarbonated. giant pop, brown snake flew out of the bottle and head when poured softly was still way too big. Flat out, this beer sucks.

Pours a brown with a volanic head that bubbles up and almost over that gives way to a bubblebath foam that ends looking like the surface of the moon. Oatmeal, hops, socks, and bad breath. The carbonation bites your tongue like a philipino prostitute fighting you over the $37.00 that you owe her. The taste is very faint, not too hoppy, and very thin. I get a hint of oatmeal, barley, hops, chocolate, and cereal. Its not a great beer but its also not great.
