May 24, 2009 From the Vacaville BevMo. 750 ml bottle, b.c., c&c. Wire broke so I got out the cutters. Pours a near black with four fingers of foamy tan head. One hoppy aroma. Seems resin. Medium plus body. Flavor: Dark malt. Lots of pine. Lush. Fairly smooth. LIttle bits of floral and citrus pop up. There seems to be a hint of coffee. Finishes nicely dark and bitter.
Note: This is a dry hopped black IPA per the label - fits the bill.

Aug 19, 2009 another gem thanks to bhensonb. poured a dark brown/black with a great beige head and awesome lace. aroma was floral, citrus, pine, and caramel. flavor was dark roast, citrus, floral, and pine. light body with high carbonation. this was in fact a treat. thanks bill

Jul 14, 2009 750 Courtesy of Bman1113VR. Pours dark brown a huge tan head. Smells of sage, spice, citrus, some boozy hints. Tastes of citrus, pepper, herbal, some resiny hints, touches of caramel. Earthy, dry finish. Very enjoyable!

Aug 10, 2009 750ml bottle from BevMo, Salinas. When I opened the bottle the nose jumped chocolate at me, along with floral hops. Cloudy dark brown with a big tan head that laces heavily. Flavor is bitterwith back ground chocolate. A StoutPA (or as the brewers call it a black IPA). I could drink this any day, got to get more bottles!

Sep 27, 2009 Huge head with a dark brown body. Aroma is citrus hops, dank, oranges. Flavor is a mix of roasted malts, slight coffee, and hoppy bitterness.

Oct 12, 2009 Pours a cloudy brown with little to no head and by "little to no head", i mean the head was approximately twice as big as the brown underneath..As it starts to settle, it creates weird pictures of the virgin mary. This beer is hard to smell...or maybe I have a cold..I think i smell musty licorice...and it has a growing plasticy nature to it as well. Flavors are kind of licorice-like, crisp, and clean but its hard to pick out much of anything specific. It is has musty, herbal character to it..Am i the only one tasting that licorice? Anyway...the hops are herbal, minty, fennel-like...the malts are slightly roasty with a little toffee hints. Its not too bad really...and it was cheap as hell...like less than $5 for a 750 of 8.8% alcohol decent beer.

Jun 19, 2009 750 ml bottle with a real bitch of a black waxed cap. Pours with a ridiculously large, tan head over a essentially black body. Aroma of coffee, molasses, brown sugar and a ton of C-hops. Taste is roast, grapefruit, leather, and smoke. Pretty bitter, but good drinkability. Way too fizzy for me. Solid beer!
