beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Jun 24, 2009 Barrel Aged Version. Tasted at the 6th Annual Triple Rock Firkin Fest on 4/4/2009. The porter pours a dark black color from the firkin. Small sized beige foamy head. The aroma is bourbon, sweet and chocolate. A medium body porter. The malts are chocolate and coffee, slightly roasty. The hops are earthy. A touch of bourbon and oak, the flavors are more noticeable in the nose than in the taste. Nice soft carbonation. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. fidel (884), Livermore, California, USA Apr 5, 2009 On cask at Firkin Fest. Dark brown, roasted malts, little coffee, slight chocolate, very dry. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 08/17/1998

Oristo (67), Orinda, California, USA Jan 14, 2003 This is an oddbut pleasing mix of strengths and weaknesses. It’s lighter in color and a bit thinner than many Porters. Still, it had a pronounced Porter nose and solid if thin Porter taste. The finish hung in longer than expected, a pleasantt surprise. It is more of a drinking porter than many.
