Swalden_28 (570), McKinney, Texas, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a clear brown with orange hue’s, beige head. Aroma of nice caramel and notes of honey. Taste has nice lightly sweet caramel flavor with nicely balanced small hop bitter. Mouth feel is light-medium with high carbonation. Overall, this is a very good, easy to drink brown ale....I enjoyed it. JuStuka (143), , Mexico Sep 2, 2008 Brown color, malty and caramel aroma, tastes of toffee, coffee, caramel. Crisp finish NJJereme (127), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Aug 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber/brown color with a light off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, toffee and yeast are apparent. Tastes as such, light to medium bodied with a pretty smooth finish. Jef_McIntosh (1), , Texas, USA does not count Aug 25, 2008 I dwell on beers that are liquid bricks. Nothing pale for me. This is by far an outstanding ale. Toffee and caramel undertones with an incredible finish, nothing obscure left when swallowed. Pleasant aroma and rich color combined with a vibrant pour makes for a filling and satisfying ale. In the past I have hounded, emailed and outright complained to my favorite restaurant to carry Tilburg’s. They do now. I do so love the painting ’The Garden Of Earthly Delight’ by Hieronymus Bosch on the front label. Bids you to wonder just what’s inside.
greedycheater (77), Oklahoma, USA Aug 20, 2008 Great dark, nut brown body with a healthy off-white head the diminishes quickly. No carbonation. Aroma of sweet nuts, some barley/grassy stuff and a hint of chocolate. Moves quickly over the tongue with minimal aftertaste for a brown ale. Mild, sweet taste with notes of chocolate, toffee, and fruit (grape?). Good.
