Slightly sweet and sticky, which would normally be a turn off for me, but this overcomes it with burnt toffee and cooked fruit notes. There is a carbonated wet paper note initially, but that disperses and the malts take over. Quite reasonable. Baadstorp (55), Århus, Denmark

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 23, 2008 I can’t review this beer without first commenting on the label. Seriously, this picture may be the strangest picture I’ve ever seen in my life. A bird, wearing a kettle on its head, eating a human that has birds flying out of its ass? Are you kidding me?
Anyhow, this is a nice looking beer. Pours a dark brown, with a thin tan head. Almost no aroma to speak of. Flavor tastes like a burnt, sweet lager. Palate is medium bodied, but goes down super watery, with a funky aftertaste. Overall, this one isn’t my cup of tea, but I might buy it again, just to get a laugh out of the label. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2008 Bottle shared by sliffy: Pours a dark ruby-brown with a thin and quickly disappearing head. Smells a tinge of sour, grainy malt, raisin, and burnt sugars. Flavor is a bit of stale nuts, malts, and actually pretty watery. Did not stick to palate, and really lacks a strong malt profile.
