Smells of malt and nutty caramel, but pretty lightly. Absolutely delicious malt to chocolate and caramel with almost a hint of berry. Goes down smooth with a perfect bite. Will definitely buy again, if only to get a second chance to figure out the image on the label. Rotorhead87 (117), Temple, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours mahogany with big beige head. The aroma isn’t very assertive, but contains caramel, molasses, and straw. The flavor is rich, sweet caramel, with some light spiciness and straw. Mainly sweetness, though. A pretty straightforward sweet brown. glennmastrange (865), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Updated: Aug 7, 2009Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of nuts and cereal with prune, ruby port, brown sugar, pepper and perhaps bourbon after it warms a bit. I noted a hint of mustiness I supposed was yeast. Head is small, fizzy, off white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear red/brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and finishes a little tart. Body is medium, between watery and creamy with lively carbonation. I was surprised how much depth was in the aroma of this beer. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Honestly, Tilburg’s Dutch Brown Ale has been one of my favorite beers for awhile now. I revisited it last night, and I still love it. It doesn’t have quite the hoppiness or alcohol content that I’m used to tasting in great beers, but it’s just so damn tasty (chocolate, caramel, brown sugar)! It seems to me that the biggest criticism would be that Tilburg’s is too syrupy sweet, but I haven’t read anything to that effect; it seems way underrated. shawnm213 (995), South Bend, Indiana, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Pretty damn good! I was not expecting much after pouring due to minimal aroma but what a surprise. Flavor not too sweet too shock the palate but leaves enough sweetness (raisin?) to want more. nearbeer (1866), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2007 33 cl; K27B7 date stamp. Translucent and darkish brown-ruby, with a huge creamy tan foam. Raisins, earthy herbs and dry yeast aromas. Flavors of prunes, grapes, cherries, hints of chocolate; all surrounded by some mellowing dryness and slight bitterness that keeps all the malty flavors from becoming unruly. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth with some acidic tingle and dryness at the end. Seems like a Belgian-style yeast twist on a brown; well done and unique.
