a pretty good brown ale. beats newcastle. i think it would be more interesting if it had a tiny bit more effervescence and sweetness to it.

Bottle. Pours a deep red body with nice head. Aroma is sweet malt, pleasant. Flavor has a slightly sweet malty taste, smooth. Easy to drink - I could session this. I was pleantly surprised with this one. A very good Brown Ale.

THOUGHTS: I noticed this beer because of its unusual logo. Nice balance between sweet and sour. Not much hops in flavor. Maybe some grassy notes, but very light. Sort of reminds me of a lighter old ale. Extreemly easy to drink. A nice beer and a great brown ale. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark red to medium brown with a large, creamy, off-white head that mostly lasted and left good lacing. The aroma was moderate malasses or caramel malt, light grassy hops, light yeast and perhaps a litttle cola. The initial flavor was moderately sweel and slightly sour, while the finish was moderate to heavy sweetness, sourness and very light bitterness with a short duration. The medium body was oily with soft carbonation and a light to moderate astringent finish.

bottle. clear copper/cranberry pour with thin foamy head. nutty, roasted malts, mollasses, dark fruit aroma. medium sweet body. caramel, sgar, maple, roasted malts. descent balance. not much to my taste.

Bottle. Tulip. Dark reddish/brown pour that is very nice. Quickly receding tannish/white head. Mouth feel is thick and starchy. Not really flavorful, but malt character is present. Very light bitterness. okay.

I liked this beer. Nothing was outstanding, but it had just enough quality features as opposed to negatives. I thought it had some nutty, woody, earthy, caramel, dust, and fig flavors.

This is an overrated Beer. It’s slightly above average, and that’s that. No way in Hell it deserves a 3 or above....it smells blah....it tastes blah...the appearance (including the label) is the best part of this Beer.

Dark brown/burgandy colored pour, with a thin light brown short lasting head. Lightly malty and almost metallicy vinegary, acidic smell too. Highly carbonated, with a sweet, nutty flavor and a very quick finish. Fairly light bodied, and easy to drink. Simple flavors, and not too full bodied for a brown ale. Nothing offensive, but nothing outstanding. A decent brown ale.
