Sweet aroma of caramel, molasses, brown sugar and a bit of breadiness. Sweet caramel/molasses flavor that leads to coriander and vanilla. Also somewhere in there is a bread flavor. At the finish is a slight maple syrup note that surfaces. Very nice taste. EithCubes (2148), Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 14, 2006 Bottle. Sweet and fruity aroma with pleasant berriness. Red pour with a light brown head. Spicy! Caramel dominated by the berry. Lightish body with a fruity, slightly artificial (-ly sweet) aftertaste and only a hint of bitterness. Actually, a little too sweet. maltdog (517), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 12, 2006 A visually appealing elixir… deep, deep crimson, almost raspberry. Lumpy ecru foam paints gravity-defying lace effigies, like prehistoric cave paintings. Amazing bouquet is pungently redolent with lush fruit: black cherry, strawberry, cranberry, fig, dried pineapple. Accompanying aromatics evoke licorice, new leather shoes, and damp autumn forest. Substantial malt sweetness couples with plums, dates, mixed nuts, old parchment. Delicate palate despite of the caramelly qualities. Clipped finish, syrupy and floral, culminating with a pinesap aftertaste. A delightful surprise. corbettmt (5), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2006 11.2 oz. bottle. The beer was an amber color with a huge (2+ inches) long lasting off-white head; when held up to the light it was reddish. The head was like eating cream on a root beer float. There was good lacing on the glass. The aroma was kind of spices and nuts. It wasn’t a very strong aroma and the taste was very weak. It was a watery mouth feel and very easy drinking. I drank it with buttered honey cake and that helped the beer taste a little more tasty. A pretty average beer that is easy to drink. I had a 330ml bottle that was at least cheaper than the average price for special beers. It’s really not bad, but loving brown ales as I do, the color, aroma, flavor and feel of this one got me disapointed. Redish brown sounds good to me, but it’s too much clear on this one, not really atractive. Almost no head. The aroma is very weak. The feel is watery and the medium gas on the appearence doesn’t really shoes-up on the feel (usually it should make beers more refreshing). The flavor is soft-sweet, bits of caramel, the matls is very noticeable. Nothing really complex.
Drinkable. Decent, but weaker than average brown ales. fonefan (11640), VestJylland, Denmark

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 4, 2006 Coloration is slightly foggy brown with a nice off white head. Aroma is slightly smokey, with caramel, along with toffee, and almonds. Taste is a bit watery with light notes of almonds, and caramel, slightly metalic also. Seems like a mass market brown. Newcastle is better, and that’s not a good thing. Borup (1360), Albertslund, Denmark
