| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2005 Bottle & tap. Red brown clear with big bubbled head. Nice estery aroma (very close to Leffe Bruin). Sweet flavor and extraordinarily complex for a beer of this strength. Some caramel and chocolate and hints of rose leafs. Ends with some grain like flavor without much bitterness. Full bodied. Very nice! theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2005 Bottle. Pours ruby chestnut color with a little off-white head. Smells caramel and brown sugar, a little too sweet. Same with the taste; although complex, overall too sweet. Could use some more hops to balance. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2005 Reddish brown, with a nice tan head. Sweet candy aroma, caramel and Belgian malts. Starts very sweet, with flavors of brown sugar, caramel and hints of fruit. Very mild hops make an appearance near the end. Finishes soft, with a syrupy sweetness. Not much balance, but pretty good overall.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2005 Pours dark copper/almost ruby with small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of chocoff, dark malt, caramel, some fruit, nuts. pumpernickel bread. Tastes very caramel malty, with big toffee, chocolate, some almonds, some coca cola. Medium palate, with decent complexity and balance. Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 22, 2005 12 oz. bottle: Light brown pour, a little hazy, but mostly transparent, with a sustaining near white head. Aromas were of sweet malts (especially raisens/prunes). Flavor wasn’t as sweet as this beer is heavily watered down, touches of caramel and dried dark fruits. Mouthfeel is watery, aftertaste is washed out. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2005 Looks similar to Newcastle though a shade darker with a longer lasting head. Rich, Belgian aroma of earthy raisens. Quite sweet. Tastes like a watered down Quad. Some of the flavors are there but they are very muted. If the body was kicked up it would be more enjoyable. Better than I remember it. SuIIy (1479), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
