Appearance: light brown pour with medium light beige creamy top.3-
Nose: brown sweet malt-fruity feel with some yeasty tones.6+
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Full mid with thinner watery sides. Sweet brown sugars , fairly straight ale with some character at top end. Forgettable.

On tap at The Golden Kiwi, Cambridge. Deep amber colour with a short lasting head. Aroma reminds me of a hefewisen; like they are using Weihenstephaner yeast. It had decent body, but an almost sickly sweet finish.

Pint from tap: Filtered, clear Amber-copper color with a ample Beige cap. Sweet and sour tones, roasty, floral hops in the aroma with a nice underlying earthy-mustiness. Sweetish caramel malts in the front, some roastyness, light complexity: spice, figs, cocoa, succulent fruit peels. Finishes up dry with some tartness and a light honey aftertaste. A tad on the thin side but flavorful. Nice drink,

Bottle. Poured a reddish brown, very thin beige head disappeared almost instantly. Aroma is of sweet malt with a touch of sourness. Carbonation is mild, feels somewhat thin. Flavor is of caramel malt and slightly nutty. Finishes sweet, nice.

Dark brown with a thick tan head. Molasses and nut aroma. Feel is sweet and bordering on sour. Mostly toffee taste and is a bit thin.

11.2oz. bottle, pours light brown, nose is nutty, caramel, nice amount of carbonation, crisp, palate cleansing, dry finish a good traditional brown ale, not my cup of tea, but good for the style.

Nice light brown color and a caramel nutty flavor. Smooth and not overwhelming on the palate. A good stand by brown ale that is decently priced and available. Recommended as an upgrade over Newcastle Brown Ale.
