Lots of brown sugar and mollasses in the aroma with some sweet fruitiness, and a touch of hops. An interesting mix of tart fruit, and sweet mollasses. A mix of a super malty belgian dubbel, and a fruity ipa.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2009 On tap at Chancey Smith’s. Deep murky brown with a nice creamy off white cap,. Nose of burnt brown sugar, caramel malts, toasted bread crust, a bit of spice. Tastes sweet, probably overly so, of brown sugar, caramel, toasty malts and rye bread. A bit of spice and sweet vanilla comes out at the finish. Overall good, but too sweet for me, and probably a bit too sweet for a brown ale, due to Belgian candy sugars. ok. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours a red color with a small head. The aroma is molasses with an oddball slinkiness and some fruity notes. The flavor is earthy and sweet with some cherry and molasses. I can see why someone might like this; I can even see why I might like it. But I kind of don’t. tnkw01 (208), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 9, 2009 A reddish-brown beer with a small head. The aroma was sweet & smelled like molasses. This tasted like brown sugar with water & a slight fruity aftertaste. This beers best attribute is the picture on the bottle that reminds me of something out of Beetlejuice. nathan30533 (158), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA

Rather sweet smell and taste but good overall combonation of flavor. Not much lacing but thats the style, good overall color. I enjoy this one and I always have. Good brew. Doesn’t last, but lacing is godd. Caramel, dried fruit, and a touch of roast in the nose. There is also something a little, sour, there. Not bad sour, though. Interesting sour. Flavour is all sweetness, though, with dried fruit and caramel dominating. Could use a little more depth. Medium body and carbonation.
