drewbeerme (1925), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 6, 2008 bottle. pours ruby with off white head. aroma is a bit skunky with some sweet grains and chocolate. flavor is skunky, toasted biscuit, dark fruit and chocolate. a decent dunkel but would be even better in a brown bottle.
satan165 (207), River Grove, Illinois, USA Jan 7, 2009 this beer does well to make me thirst for a proper dunkenweizen or even a baltic porter. color is transparent rust. aroma is of sweet malts, ovaltine and brown sugar. flavor is sweet. it doesnt have the syrup but otherwise its flat RC cola. palate doesnt linger long. this provides no excitement to drag me away from a regular pilsner. dm9831 (775), Monee, USA Dec 18, 2008 dark brown , ruby highlights, tan head, mostly tiny bubbles. sweet malt nose, pretty airy. flavor is sweet. watery mouthfeel, dry finish. very disappointing. Ober (605), Best, Netherlands Nov 18, 2008 A clear brown colored beer with a beie head. The aroma of caramel sweet, some notes of dark fruits. The taste is bittersweet and dry. The aftertaste is also dry and little bittersweet. bhensonb (3222), Woodland, California, USA Oct 17, 2008 Bottle from Tops in Tempe, AZ. Dark brown color with a frothy tan head. Aromas of dark fruit and deeply roasted caramel. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is mild dark fruit - suggests cola (not quite Dr. Pepper). Finish is astringent, but there’s some bitter. I call it dry. RAYBOY01 (1685), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 9, 2008 Decent dark lager...touch thin and perhaps undercarbonated, but OK. Bready malting with caramel undertones...hops tending toward the earthy and underrepresented. Nothing special but nothing particularly offensive either.
