Cask: Very deep amber coloured, small lacy brownish head with pink spots; sweet caramel in the otherwise hoppy and fruity nose; relatively light bodied, smooth, robust bitter-sweet flavour; almost a tinge of molasses in the dryish lingering hoppy-fruity (dried fruits) finish. Fine characterful brew.........

Cask (handpump) @ The Kings Head, Huddersfield, England.
Clear dark red brown color with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, berry, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter (coffee bitter acidic notes) with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090716]

Cask-conditioned at the Town Hall Tavern, Leeds 23/06/09. Deep brown in colour, with a hint of red and tan head. Fruity, sweet aroma. Flavour had some caramel, red fruit and a slightly hoppy, bitter finish. Good.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Very dark mahogany, almost opaque, thin off white head. Excellent roasty malt with some equally good fruity notes. Faint but bright and entertaining hoppage on top. The malt is lovely and chewy and the burnt liquorice and light spicy notes in the finish are glorious. Nice and full in the mouth. Jolly good indeed.

(Pint from handpump at Fat Cat, Norwich) Very nice flavoursome dark beer, chocolate + toffee + dark fruits prominent in smell and taste, looks ruby black with an off white head.

Handpulled cask at the Fleece Inn, Haworth, West Yorkshire. Brown/black with a tan head. Basically Landlord with caramel. Very drincable and well balanced but rarley found in really fresh (high turnover) condition of its sister brews.
