Draft at the brewery. Not nearly as good as the Tin Mill Pilsener. Appearance is clear yellow with aromas of light malt and flavors that are light and crisp and refreshing but otherwise not much here. Still, much better than the mass produced crap that dominate the market.

12oz bottle 12/2/08 (Wine and Cheese Place-St. Louis)-Pours a murky golden with a white head. Aroma of bread, malt, and yeast. Taste of the same with some sweetness thrown in. This light bodied brew is nicely balanced and not bad.

12oz bottle. Bright yellow pour, with thin bright white head. Lighter in color than the regular Pils. Bready aroma, hint of straw and skunk. Light bodied, easy to drink. Clean character. Nice clean malt, sharp hop character. Very nice.

What a surprise. Pours clear and golden, big fuzzy head that dissipates quickly into a halo. Aroma is spot on for the style, dandelion, honey sweet, slight grainy notes. Flavor is also textbook pilsener, intial impression is floral hops, leading to some hop pepperiness, which draws into a clean but bitter middle section (rose hearts?), some tart lemongrass, and a clean, dry finish with a nice bitter tone. Complex for a simple style, quite nice.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale hay-hued body with a small, bubbly, white head. Smell: Faintly sweetish pilsner malt nose with some mild floral and spice hop notes. Taste: Light pale malts, slightly grainy, and with a light sweetness. Tiny hint of lemon. Floral hop character with a mild bitterness. Finishes dry, clean, and crisp with a small bit of lingering hop bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A fine pilsener to combat the Missouri heat (provided Missouri even gets much heat). Though, if you’re in a bind as to reach for their other pilsener or the Skyscraper, I’ll lend my recommendation to the latter.

Holy shit. Seriously. Out of left field rating. Right. Now. Okay, this Helles/German Pils has some age on it. Aroma is yeasty as hell, some banana ester, malty. Taste follows suit. So. Fucking. Clean. No flaws in the taste. No grassiness, but a significant contribution from the hops without the grassiness in most beers from the style. Finish is clean, crisp and the bitterness lingers. Had this fresh also, but lost the rating. No diacetyl, oxidation or anything. Seriously, a nearly perfect example of the style.
