Fairly strong chocolate, roast grain aroma with sweet cereal notes and light earthy loam organic accents. Full black body with a lasting thumb thick mocha head. Chocolate and toasted malt light fruit and mild nut notes. Fairly satisfying mouthfeel. Not bad.

On nitro pour at the brewpub in Coral Gables, FL. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a thin tan head that slicks with the glass. Aroma of roasted dark malt, a hint of coffee, chocolate and dark pitted fruits. Taste is light to medium bodied, smooth with flavors of toasted dark malt, coffee and flowery hops. Finish is a tad watery and has a hint of fruit and light coffee aftertaste.

Really lame, like a watered down guinness. Almost no smell and even less flavor. This beer is all color.

Draught at the pub. Opaque dark brown with a creamy tan head. Chocolatey malt aroma. Flavor is a full dry roastiness that is mildly bitter. Subdued chocolatey sweetness. Full creamy mouthfeel.

Enjoyed on nitro at the brewpub. Roasty and it gives a coffee aroma, and above-average mouthfeel as expected. Black with dark brown head, looks good. I didn’t appreciate the taste and mouthfeel so much so those elements did not work for me.

Tap. Nice dark brown with a big foamy tan head. At first glance this seems to be a winner. Well it goes downhill from there. Aroma is fair with roasted malts, milk chocolate and maybe a hint of coffee. Flavor is not what I would have expected. Roasty, thin, fruity and really not that stout like. Points for looks. Not a lot for taste.

Pours deep dark brown with mocha head. The aroma is roasted malts, a hint of vanilla, some faint earthiness and chocolate. The taste has a nice creaminess bringing in notes of dark roasted malts, earthiness, some chocolate and some mild astringency and a tannin like twang. Maybe that twang is just a bit of hops. Very roasty and good.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with light brown head. Chocolate, coffee and burnt malt aromas. Similar flavors with oatmeal that smoothed out the texture. Medium/full body with minimal carbonation and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Probably their best brew.
