Doppelganger (1204), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jun 8, 2007 Tap, White Horse, Oxford. Dark copper, beige cap of sticky soapy white. A touch of caramel aroma, grass, earth, maybe a little cinnamon. Chalky dry toast chocolate flavor, robust chewy bitterness that lingers into the finish. Smooth, sweet. Medium body. Sort of rough around the edges, but a nice full-flavored ale. hughie (2286), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jul 8, 2006 Cask at Wellington Arms, bedford. Dark golden with a small, off-white head. Faint fruity aroma. Strawy, musty taste with low bitterness, but not bad at all. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England May 9, 2006 Cask conditioned @ Humble Plum, Soton. Odd offputting aroma that I couldnt identify - almost artificial factory smell. Other than that fairly unexceptional but cant do enough to redeem the poor start.
