Commercial Description:
This beer is brewed to be light, yet flavorful, with three malts and a small portion of flaked rye. The rye highlights the addition of Wisconsin honey by creating a mild spiciness. Though honey is added during the brewing process, it is consumed by our brewing yeast during fermentation, leaving a wonderful hint of honey flavor without the sweetness we associate with it. With Wisconsin being the fifth largest honey producer in the United States, we at TBC feel compelled to brew with it!

Ontap at the brewery. Not impressed at all with any of the beers at this brewery. Typical poor to barely average macro brewpub offerings. Poor non-existent head and watery appearance. Hardly any decernable aroma having to really REALLY grasp at pulling anything out. Light presence of honey with notes of banana and a bit of spicey rye. Very watered down and minimal offering for the masses. Again, the house character is very prevalent as well with all their beers having an odd metallic taste and certain terroir that I find very quite displeasing. Not a fan at all.

Light floral honey nose on a crisp gold color beer. Grainy body with a honey aftertaste

On tap at Titletown. Poured clear bright golden with a dusting and a light ring of white head. Aroma picked up sweet clover honey, mild citrus, and some floral notes.. soft overall and somewhat enjoyable. Flavor found a heavier dose of honey paired with sweet pale malts at the core accented by a mild dusty bitterness.. picked up some unpleasant vegetal characteristics at the back-end. Light-bodied with some diacetyl notes across the middle and a sweeter finish. Meh.

Yellow color. Smell of flowers, roasted malt, light honey and bread. Taste of corn, malt, toast and honey. Nothing really going on in this one.

Sampler draft at pub. Sweet aroma. Honey evident, although it could be power of suggestion. Slightly hazy gold with a thin white head. Some lace. Dry, although I tried Titletown’s grape juice and rootbeer right beforehand. Pretty basic. Tastes very much like a american lager. Some faint hop in the finish. No flaws and not bad for what it’s trying to be.

Second stop during Wisconsin Trip #2. Straight on tap at the brewpub, pours a golden yellow which I find a little darker than most honey blonde ales I’ve tried. Develops a thin white head that disappears almost immediately. Aroma is very light. Just barely pick up white bread, honey, moist craft paper, and some lawn. Taste is a typical light beer, a touch of smoothness, and toasted grain. Finish is light and hardly any aftertaste. I would give this about three notches above an average lawn mower beer.

Pours a golden color with little head. Aroma is sweet smelling but not much else. Tastes pretty good with a bit of sweet honey flavor balanced by the malt and toasted grain flavors. Light but flavorful this is a good brew in my book.
