Commercial Description:
We brewed this malty brown lager from eight diverse malts, including German beechwood smoked malt, English amber malt, and Wisconsin caramel malt. The result is a rich, smooth beer whose light smoky flavor enhances many foods.

From Skyview. Aroma has oak with light smoke. Moderate smoke in the flavor, with a thin but appropriate malt body. Very dark brown, with a medium palate. A fine job from a small brewpub. Certainly recognizable as a smoked beer. I wish more small brewers would give this style a go.

Growler from Skyview. Dark brown color with a medium head. Light smokey aroma. Lots more smoke in the flavor. Plenty of that good, Bamburg smoke. Dry grain finish.

(growler from Skyview) Pours light brown with an off-white head. The aroma is composed of a lot of campfire wood, some chocolate, and lightly burnt microwave popcorn. The taste is very nice with a great balance of sweet and smoky flavors. Some chocolate, roasted malt, and of course smoke show up, but one doesn’t dominate over the other. This was a pretty good beer, that would be quite sessionable.

I’ve had only a handful of experiences with rauchbiers. It was a nice brew from Ttown, however i expected a lot more coming through in its smokey character. Pours a dark copper colour with a medium sized white head. aroma is oaky, slightly smokey and nutty. Taste is rich, lighter then i imagined but pleasent adn creamy.

Pours a deep ruby color with a large off-white head with lots of lacing. Aroma is like a mix between a smoldering campfire, and smoked summer sausage. Taste is smoked malts, with syrupy richness, and a bitter finish. A very good smoked beer.

On draught at the brewpub in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a thick beige head that has some good retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of toasted and smoked multi-grain caramel malt, a touch of maple syrup, bacon, and floral hops. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with flavors of smoked caramel malt, some milk chocolate, maple, and a touch of toffee. Finish continues the smoked malt aftertaste with a semi-sweet malt character. A solid smoked beer with a good balance of flavor.
