Commercial Description:
We used the famous yeast strain from the Trappist Abbey of Westmalle in Belgium to make this Dubbel (double) style beer. Rich, sweet malty flavors complement those of ripe fruit and clove-like spice in this creamy, full-bodied ale.

Pours a hazey orange-amber colour with an enormous white head that takes a while to settle down. Sticky resiny lacing, with aromas of cloves, ginger, wheat and pear. Well integreted spice character- with a smooth blend of ripe hops and fruit. Very tastey, and higher in abv im assuming.

As usual, thanks to Skyview for this Wisconsin beer. Sweet nutty and banana nose on this amber beer. Sweet malty flavor with caramel hints and a yeast bite.

[Growler, thanks Skyview] Pours amber with a small, off-white head. Aroma is bana, spice and a lot of yeast. Taste is nearly nonexistent with only a little bit of yeast and malt. Thin. I didn’t care for this.

(from a growler provided by Skyview, thanks) Pours light brown with a white head. Very subdued aroma of light banana, candy sugar, and yeast. The flavor is very weak as well, with only some sweet caramel, and a finish that is yeasty. Really thin mouthfeel.

Not a very good dubbel. Some acid. Copper color. A little banana and yeast. Thin on the palate. I do appreciate Skyview’s generosity in sharing.

Thnaks to Skyview. Poured a orangish brown hue. Banana, tropical fruits, and brown sugar. Flavor is pretty simple and thin with the fruits and brown sugar dominating. OK beer, but nothing special.

Growler courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with no head. A little banana aroma and taste. Very sugary. Strong yeast and malt flavors. Pretty good.

Available on draught at the brewpub in Downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a clear red copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some good retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet bready malt, raisins, some cloves, dark pitted fruit and a touch of Belgian yeast. Taste is medium to full bodied, some light carbonation, with flavors of Belgian yeast, semi-sweet bread malt and some clove. Finish is semi-dry with an artificial alcohol character from the Belgian yeast flavor and after taste.
