Titletown Blacktop Baltic Porter

Chocolate in the aroma and the flavor. Medium palate. Lager yeast in the flavor. Some oatmeal and a moderately roasted flavor. More like a dry stout, lacking the flavors I like in a Baltic porter.

Sampled on draught: Pours a thick drak black colour with a full brown head. Very creamy, strong notes of roasted malts, black pepper, smoke and slight alcohol. Very rich, noticeable malty with caramel and chocolate notes. A very nice offering from titletown. Definately a belly warmer.

Growler courtesy of Skyview. Black color with a medium head. Aroma of dry and roasted malts along with a bit of salt. The taste is pretty close to the same. Lightly sugary finish, which was a bit surprising, but still good.

Crushed with Jakebra and co. at the brewery. Excellent. Surprisingly sweet finish in this one. Roasty and awesome and damn delicious. The best brew Titletown has to offer.

Pours black to dark brown with a thick light brown head. Aroma is heavily anise, roasted malts, and candied sugar. Taste is anise, dark fruits, roasted malts with a creamy mouthfeel and slight alcohol warmth.

On draught at the brewpub in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque cherry cola brown brew with a fast dissolving tan head that leaves behind a tan ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some candi sugar, dark chocolate, some dark pitted fruits, and plenty of alcohol. Taste is full bodied, very light carbonated with flavors of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, dark pitted fruits and more alcohol than in its aroma. Finish has a mild metallic texture from its high alcohol presence with a quick disappearing toasted dark malt and chocolate aftertaste.

On tap at Titletown. Pours a dark brown color with thick light brown head. Aroma is of rich roasted malt, light caramel, and chocolate covered cherry. Taste is semi-sweet chocolate, some dark fruit, alcohol and roasted malt. Carbonation is moderate and the beer finishes clean. A good brew.

Draught at GABF 2008 as Big Black Bold Baltic. Clear dark brown colured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, dried fruits, rye bread and chocolate. Light roasted flavour of caramel, dried fruits, chocolate, rye bread and alcohol. Roasted and warming alcoholic finish.
