Nice bitter chocolate and espresso-laden aroma. I love what these malts are indicating. Medium-to-full bodied. Freshly roasted French coffee mixed with a gourmet hot chocolate mix. Not aggressive, but smooth and sound in style. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Most Excellent sweet chocolate malt with a good rich mouthfeel. Rosaty malt aroma, pretty weak though. A great beer for malt-heads. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Had on tap at the brewpub in downtown Green Bay, WI - very appropriately named - you can see a drawbridge from the brewry. Dark black pour, thick creamy mocha colored head with excellent lacing. Tad too much lacticity, but does not ruin it. Good creaminness and minty notes setle in well with the bittersweet chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel. Probably th ebest of my sample at Titletown. JPDIPSO (4935), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Near black with a light cocoa colored head. Light roasted malt with overtones of dark choclate and mild coffee in the aroma. Light smooth feel. Mocha flavors abound. Light herbal hops and dark malt finish. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Fairly sweet, very smooth, some coffee/chocolate overtones but not terribly distinctive. Some red wine notes as well. OK. baseballguy (246), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

A nice restaurant, by the way, that began its architectural life as a railroad station. Worth checking out the next time you’re in Green Bay. Go Packers! The Friar99 (222), Wisconsin, USA
