Nuffield (2718), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jul 31, 2009 Fruity nose, particularly grape flavors, with a malty bock-like finish. Decent. From Skyview. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Apr 15, 2009 On tap at Titletown. Poured medium amber with a creamy cap of tan head. The aroma was well-balanced with dark fruity meeting peppery yeastage.. warmth was evident, but by all means in a good way. The flavor was sweet and fruity as well with plums leading.. spicy yeast gave a white pepper and coriander impression.. finished strong and spicy with more of the dark fruits and warmth. Medium-plus bodied with higher carbonation on the palate.. flowed OK. Excellent brew! JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Mar 22, 2009 Another from Skyview. Brown color. Sugar, some fruit. Lots of malt. Sweet. Standard Belgian Strong. MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Mar 10, 2009 [Growler] shared at Skyview’s Lex/Larp Cellars Farewell. Pours a clear ruby/caramel with a foamy brown head. Aroma is alcohol, raisin, figs, caramel, and dark fruits. Lightly yeasty aroma with some candi sugar. Mostly a caramel malt flavor, rounded out by Noble hops and sugar. A touch of yeast leftover. Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Dec 27, 2008 Pours a very dark ruby colorr with a medium bubbly head that fades quickly. Aroma is red grape, belgian spices and yeast, and grains. You know how it is - taste is about the same. A fruitier and bitter BSA. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Dec 27, 2008 On tap at Titletown. Pours a dark ruby color with thick off white head that fades quickly. Aroma is of ripe red grape, Belgian spice and toasted grains. Taste is much the same. Not intense spice but just everything in balance. Solid BSA! Great job Dave! Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 27, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear dark copper amber with a creamy beige head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, Belgian yeast, a hint of banana esters, some chocolate and alcohol presence. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of toasted caramel malt, a hint of chocolate, some herbal spice and plenty of alcohol. Finish has a Belgian yeast and caramel aftertaste that then takes over by the higher alcohol profile. A nice winter warmer that could make one not think about the 2008 Packer season.
