Commercial Description:
Cask; created for the Wetherspoons International Real Ale Festival, Autumn 2009. Golden in colour, its hoppy character is balanced by a subtle, sweet maltiness, leading to a refreshingly dry aftertaste. Hops used: Challenger, Fuggles, Goldings

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoon. Gold to amber with white head. Strangely, i founf this beer to have quite a smokey malt character, which was a little odd in a lightish bitter. Some sweetness as well. A bit confused but ok.

Cask in the Alfread Herring. Alround rating: Diactyl, raw grassy bitterness, fairly yeasty and unclean. Not hot at all, couldnt finish the half in the time i had.

Cask conditioned handpump Briar Rose Birmingham. A golden coloured beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma has good lemon and other citrus fruit hoppy notes. These follow through to the mouth where there is also a hint of spicy prickle. A good body and a tasty beer.

Handpulled cask at JDW Rayners Lane. Amber with an off white head. A very drinkable session bitter with no outstanding characturistics. Fairly dry.

Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford in ’Spoons BF ’09. Copper amber with a small white head. Sour buttery, no, cheesy aroma, which I quite liked. Strawy mothball taste is less appealing. Sharp bitter finish gives a rather harsh feel.

JDW Rochester. Nicely hoppy session bitter with some citric character and good juice base. I liked this very much.

Cask at the Standing Order (JDW), Stevenage. Amber with a thick billowing cream coloured head; vague, malty aroma; rich earthy caramel malt flavour; and a satisfying, deeply bitter, finish. Excellent.
