Hollywoodt (161), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Poured a ruby/amber color with minimal white head. The raspberry seemed to be dominant in the aroma. The flavor was fruity and just a little tart. Good carbonation. It was OK. sebletitje (104), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Pours copper with a good white head. Nose is of berries, ale and a soapy/watery smell.
The aroma has the staple Tommyknocker mapple malt and this seems to really overtake the fruity aroma of all the berries. The mix of berries is noticable but remains hidden, and it adds a mouthfeel that reminds me of a sweet cough syrup.
It’s a good ale, not to be confused with a fruity wheat. JFURYCAT (701), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 I was told to try this when I said I was trying to figure out what to do with a fruit beer I want to create. I’ll skip adding fruit. The berry combination seems to create a somewhat tart and grape-like flavor kind of like the days when me and the boys took all the icy pops and added them together. spagyetti (68), Puyallup, Washington, USA Jun 21, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Shotgun brew method. Throw it all in there and let’s see what happens! Confusion and thickness that has no place in a "fruit beer". Linus_Stick (1459), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 5, 2008 A typical fruit beer minus the strong aroma. Aroma was weak but consisted of stale fruit. Pour was a flat bubbleless brown with no head and very murky. Taste was very flat and watery. Tasted like a watered down juice box drink for kids. Blah.
