Commercial Description:
A rich, full-bodied oatmeal stout dispensed with nitrogen. A subtle roasted coffee flavor and aroma complements the smooth, slightly sweet finish.

I had this on tap at Max’s on Broadway in the Fell’s Point neighborhood in Baltimore, MD. As a very novice reviewer, I’ll just say that its characteristics are similar to Guinness in many ways, except that the bubbles in the head are about twice as thick as it, and it is sweeter.

on tap-pours a dissipating tan head and black color. Aroma is coffee, malt. Taste is coffee, malt. Full body. Mild/OK carbonation.

Knoxville Brewers’ Jam 2006. Pours amber black with a very small brown head. The aroma is strong on molasses. The flavor surprised me with its smokiness. Typical stout elements are there, too-- chocolate, coffee, burnt toast. But it is dominated by bacon and molasses. A bit unorthodox, maybe, but that’s not a bad thing. I like this quite a bit.

Draught @ Brewer’s Jam. I was surpised to see how dark this is given the quality of their other brews. It’s very black with slight ruby hues coming through in the sunlight. The small tan head fades away. There’s a bit of butter, toast, smoke, chocolate, coffee in the aroma. The butter is mostly covered up in the flavor by smokey chocolate but it is maybe a bit too sticky sweet to really enjoy a whole pint. The high level of sweetness was okay for just 8 oz, though.

Clear dark colour, medium head. Aroma of burnt chocolates. Bitter taste, watery feel. I quite liked it, but I know I’m the lone fan of wateriness round these parts.

nice dark pour with thin chocolate colored head. Coffee, malt, hops. A little sour. Not a very enjoyable beer.
