Commercial Description:
This award winning doppelbock (8.2% alcohol by volume) lager is brewed with a generous supply of Munich, carapils, caramel and chocolate malts and is fermented with Bavarian lager yeast. The resulting caramel sweetness and rich mouthfeel are complimented by the mild bittering of German Hallertau hops. 1997 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner

Enjoyable. Ruby amber with a thin beige head. Malty nose with a bit of yeast. Sweet dopplebock flavor, rich with malty goodness. Very good.

Great Caramel flavor, enjoyed Hops and had a great appearance. Good friend gave it to us to toast a great bird. Would buy again. Tommy Knocker is one of our favorite beers!

This went down so smooth and easy i almost didnt have time to consider it. With its light aroma, sweet malts and earthy hops. Made this a very easy beer to drink.

Very light aroma. I think I smell a little apple. Hazy amber color with small tan head. Begins with a malty and nutty. Nuts fade in the finish leaving a sticky palate in the back of the mouth.

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a dark reddish amber color, with a whisper of a tan colored head. Aromas are of lager yeast, some sulfur, sweet malts, earthy hops. Flavors are slightly sulfurous, sweet malts, smooth hops. Medium mouthfeel, about average for the style. Decent enough overall. Alcohol is well hidden.

12 oz bottle shared with 17thfloor at WLV, probably a year old. Clear, dark reddish brown with creamy, small beige head. Aroma is a lot of lager yeast with some aged toffee malt and some alc as well. Flavor is very oxidized like cardboard mixed with dough, but as the beer warmed up some nice roasted malt and caramel came out as well, alc was a little too much. Thin body with okay carbonation. In style to a point but what’s with that color, it was way too light. I’m also told by Drewbeerme that I am wrong about the color, so it might deserve a second look.
