| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 14, 2008 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a dark reddish amber color, with a whisper of a tan colored head. Aromas are of lager yeast, some sulfur, sweet malts, earthy hops. Flavors are slightly sulfurous, sweet malts, smooth hops. Medium mouthfeel, about average for the style. Decent enough overall. Alcohol is well hidden. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2008 12 oz bottle shared with 17thfloor at WLV, probably a year old. Clear, dark reddish brown with creamy, small beige head. Aroma is a lot of lager yeast with some aged toffee malt and some alc as well. Flavor is very oxidized like cardboard mixed with dough, but as the beer warmed up some nice roasted malt and caramel came out as well, alc was a little too much. Thin body with okay carbonation. In style to a point but what’s with that color, it was way too light. I’m also told by Drewbeerme that I am wrong about the color, so it might deserve a second look.
