| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 29, 2007 12 oz. bottle that poured a caramel color with minimal white head. Aroma was minmal as well. Smelled faintly of caramel. Mouthfeel was moderately heavy. As with most doppelbocks I’ve had so far, this is a very sweet beer. Taste was of caramel and maybe some toffee and chocolate. Like a liquid Milky Way bar. Alcohol is well hidden. At 8.2% that could be dangerous. I detected no sign of the Hallertau hops that the commercial description speaks of. A nice sweet tasty brew. scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2007 A hazy, caramel coloring. The alcohol steps out and interferes with the taste - that of sticky sweet molasses. A nice flavor, it just could be a little smoother. mmmbeer (765), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 27, 2007 12 oz. bottle- nice caramel smell when cracked open, poured dark amber color. Hit the mouth easy and with a body at first like a bock, but moderate alcohol after finish. Just another rating, don’t plan on trying again. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 23, 2007 12 oz. bottle from lb4lb. Clear copper body with a medium off white head that subsides quickly. Sweet caramel aroma, no hop based aromas to speak of. Mediu/full body with a pleasing richness, a bit sticky on the palate. As in the aroma, he sweet caramel dominates, but there is a faint spicy bitterness at the end to stem the tide. Still finishes sweet, but not out of character for a Doppelbock. A deep reddish brown color with a thin head. This had citrus and swet aroma and flavors all throughout the beer. Liked the Munich malts used and the yeast was very sweet. A reat doppel to drink. nearbeer (1862), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Nose is chocolate and a root beer-like spiciness. Flavor is caramel, slight corn, spicy cola and bitterish herbs, with some alcohol flavor noticeable at the end. Fairly smooth, medium-bodied, with a dry and alcohol-warm finish. Nice winter warmer.
