Malty aroma, slightly floral as well. Very complex flavor, carmel and coffee notes but also brown sugar and nuts. Slightly malty as well. Extremely complex flavor which makes this a refreshing addition to the otherwise pedestrian Tommy Knocker line. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2006 Pours deep copper in color with faint carbonation and a khaki head that holds as a thin skin. Alcohol precedes stale caramel malt in aroma with a touch of maple syrup, walnuts and latent fruitiness. Sweet and sharp flavor with dominant malts, a little sticky in the mouth. Finish is dry with a hint of sourness and lingering alcohol.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Nice pour of a light cola color some head and lacing. Nice caramel aroma that atches the flavor that one expects from a Doppelbock. I also like the fact the sell in variety si packs. ToadMan (554), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Carmel brown color with a moderate head and light lacing. Big aroma of malt and sweet caramel. Flavor is quite sweet, tones of carmel with quite a lot of maltieness. Not particulary complex and too sweet, but still prety good. eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 29, 2006 I actually enjoyed this doppelbock relative to others’ takes on it. Poured a very beautiful pour into my tulip glass, perfectly looking off-white to tannish head on top of an orange-brown body, great lacing the whole way down, gentle rings. The aroma was a little bit of bubblegum, some caramel, some dark fruits, and a touch of grass. Flavor picked up nuts, bread, cookie dough, light chocolate, and reinforcing caramel w/ a distinct fruitiness. Alcohol wasn’t hot at all in this sample, although one could accuse it of being too sweet. The finish was lightly bittered, though, keeping this from being cloying or too sweet for sure. A nice job at a doppelbock, imo. Arnie (272), Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA
