Commercial Description:
This award winning doppelbock (8.2% alcohol by volume) lager is brewed with a generous supply of Munich, carapils, caramel and chocolate malts and is fermented with Bavarian lager yeast. The resulting caramel sweetness and rich mouthfeel are complimented by the mild bittering of German Hallertau hops. 1997 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner

Flavorful and solid mouth feel. Dark flavors of chocolate, brown sugar and deep fruits. Alcohol is not too forward. Decent finish. No complaints.

Nice double bock taste with a strong punch. Alcohol is felt in the finish most definitely.

Pour is a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of brown sugar and dark fruit. Flavor is again lots of brown sugar with some plum and molasses. Best in show by this brewer by far and may even be better than the oaked version.

12 oz bottle. Pours a rich amber/brown color with a white head that lacks retention and lacing. Aroma is a bit boozy at first and then gives way to slight hints of dark fruit and sweet malt. Very nice, not what I was expecting at all. Flavor has a nice blend of chocolaty notes and the dark fruit from the nose. Very smooth and balanced. It has a very nice full mouthfeel as well. This, so far, has been the best Tommyknocker beer I have had.

Quickly descending head and muddy brown body. Dark fruit and sugar aroma. Really sweet. Nice finish. Sugary malts. Middle of the beer is good. Roasted malts. Easy to drink for a doppelbock.
