Commercial Description:
This award winning doppelbock (8.2% alcohol by volume) lager is brewed with a generous supply of Munich, carapils, caramel and chocolate malts and is fermented with Bavarian lager yeast. The resulting caramel sweetness and rich mouthfeel are complimented by the mild bittering of German Hallertau hops. 1997 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner

Quickly descending head and muddy brown body. Dark fruit and sugar aroma. Really sweet. Nice finish. Sugary malts. Middle of the beer is good. Roasted malts. Easy to drink for a doppelbock.

Thin head, which dissipates quickly. Soda bubble like carbontion on the sides of my glass. Sweet malty aroma, some dates and black cherry. Typical dopplebock aromas. Color is a dark mahagony red. Soft malts, smooth and creamy with some caramel and nuts. Finishes sweet and malty. Light alcohol presence. A decent dopplebock.

Has a nice brown head and the beer itself is a good and dark. It tates of nuts and is also nice and malty. Finishes a little spicy.

Pours a reddish brown with no head and very little lacing. Malty nose with some scents of bread, caramel and a little bit of nut. The flavor was solid and did not deviate much from what I was able to pick up in the smell - I did get a little bit of toffee as well. Decent mouthfeel, carbonation and aftertaste. One of the more solid Tommyknockers I have tried out of the mix pack.

Bottle. Aroma has a somewhat vinegarish tang. Cloudy chestnut body, off-white head. Flavor is sweet and fruity, with notes of tangy orange and alcohol.

This poured a brownish color with an off white head. Aroma was very malty, hints of dark fruits and a bit nutty. Flavor was as tempting as the aroma, fairly smooth beer but not much stands out and does not hide the alcohol very well either.
