Dec 6, 2009 Cloudy reddish copper - minimal head - nose of raisin, caramel, nutmeg, slight booze/rum - medium-sweet flavor, with some bitterness, light tartness, and a touch of oxidation that cut it a bit - bread pudding, raisin, prune, toffee - a bit of yeast/dark bread - lightly bitter and roasty finish - a bit of alcohol heat, but not too much - a decent bock.

Nov 29, 2009 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear reddish vrown colour with a small off-white head. Malty nose of caramel, fudge and prunes with touches of peppery hops. Medium to full-bodied with touches of caramel toasted bread, fudge, prunes and figs. Long balanced if a bit clean finish of caramel prunes and spicy dryish hops. Tasty Bock.

Nov 22, 2009 (Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Reddish brown colour, almost ruby, with a brief foamy head. Malty, toasty nose with notes of caramel, nuts and dark fruit. Malty taste with caramel, dark fruit, toffee, dark bread and slightly spicy hops in the finish. More than medium body with smooth mouthfeel. Some caramel sweetness lingers throughout. Well balanced and tasty beer.

Nov 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is caramel with notes of acidity. The flavor is caramel. The palate is sweet. Overall a little wierd, but good.

Appearance: Light brown with red highlights and a decent sized light tan head. Good head retention and okay lacing.
Aroma: Malty nose with notes of caramel, nuts, alcohol, and a bit of dark fruit.
Flavor: Caramel, sweet malt, a bit of date or fig, alcohol, and a bit of a English sourness to it.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-rich mouthfeel and a medium-long, sweet finish.
Overall: Certainly more sessionable than I find most dopplebocks, but also lacking some of the complexity and depth. Take it or leave it.

Oct 29, 2009 Hazy amber with a large beige head, spots of lace. Aroma of caramel and alcohol with a cidery edge. Full of malt flavor, caramel, bread, fig, apple cider, cream soda. The sweet caramel lingers the longest into the finish. Not much harmony, alcohol and apples come off a bit harsh. Medium to full body; bright, warming palate.

Oct 29, 2009 Bottle. A really fine beer. Compared this one and the Oaked Butt Head Bock at the same time. Oak was better, but not by much. May want the regular kind when drinking several. Oak might be a bit overpowering. Highly recommended.
