Light and odd aromoa of powdered chocolate (Nestle Quik). Odd, overly sweet flavor of hot cocoa mix. Palate is thin and watery. Nothing more than a weak gimmick beer. jwilson3 (3), USA does not count | 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Very dilute in the mouth - hops not detected This is a beer I will not drink again bigguns22 (106), Maryland, USA

Appearance: Murky, muddy ale with brown tint. Very small (minimal) head produced. Flat looking. Nose : Neat , refreshing cocoa with brown sugar like. Smooth pleasant set up. 8- Flavor/Palate : Medium light bodied . Clean earthy hints with cocoa accents . creamy texture , smooth and soft. Well produced centre of palate but supporting sides were poor. That made slightly one sided brew which in it self is not a bad thing but such way might not suit everyone.

I didn’t quite drink enough to tell of lacing. From the pour a putrid, rotten cabbage-like aroma permeated the room. I have a very hard time even bringing myself to take a single sip...but I’d feel kinda guilty rating just from aroma. The first sip produces such a wretching that words cannot even begin to describe the flavor. I almost lost my dinner. A second sip literally caused stomach bile to rise up my throat. By far the most repulsive beer I’ve ever had. Some kind of weird cabbage, plus sour lactic acid flavor. I’m deeply offended I have to give this a 1. Why can’t I give zeros...or negative numbers??? My description can’t do it justice. Some beers just aren’t my cup of tea, but I usually like porters. I can’t fathom how ANYONE could drink this. It’s simply unbelievably bad. I literally gagged myself hours later just thinking about this beer. Unforgettable. georgehog (18), Delaware, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 16, 2008 One of the best smelling beers I have had. Unfortunately, the praise and redeeming qualities end there. The aroma is roasty and sweet, with alot of cocoa. Appearance is somewhat disturbing, murky brown with alot of floaties, not visually appealing in an american porter. Taste is thin and astringent with some cocoa coming through in the finish. Unbalanced, definitely needs cleaned up. Suttree (2734), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 The aroma is of cheap, artificial chocolate, like if you stuck your nose in a can of Nestle Quik. And y’know what? I love that smell. Cheap, artificial, whatever, I like it. Flavor is a little less enticing, rkinda like someone dumped a spoonful of Quik in instant coffe. Nevertheless, I liked it more than I thought I would. nearbeer (1842), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2008 12 oz. Nearly opaque with a four-finger, creamy and lasting cap. Aroma is cocoa, with maybe a whiff of caramel malt-molasses. Initial flavor is dry cocoa, turning to a sweeter caramel-chocolate fudge, and finishing with some slight charred wood and marshmallow creme. Medium body is smooth and sticky. This is definitely a one-and-done sweet beer that would make a good dessert; maybe less honey would take it up a few notches.
