Hazy walnut color, thin head. Very nutty and cocoa aroma with an interesting toasted breakfast cereal quality. Way sweet in flavor. The initial cocoa/cereal flavor pretty nice but the sweetness really wipes it away. The finish is on the watery side.

Pours pretty dark, not quite black and you can definately see a little light through it. The smell is mostly milk chocolate cocoa powder with some roasted malts also. Taste is really sweet tastes like cocoa powder with a slight honey note that comes through pleasantly. Roasted malt aftertaste. Not anything special but definately not offensive in any way.

Pours black with an unusual white head. Smells like powdered cocoa, but the taste is lacking. Rather weak for a porter, very thin and watery.

1-19-08 bottle.
Blackish brown with thin cream colored head. Smells like the generic cocoa puffs. Has an artifical cocoa and cheap malt smell. Taste is slightly chocolate and malt but is mostly just watery. Has a chocolate powder aftertaste too that isn’t very enjoyable at all. No desire to finish the glass. Not a winner.

Reminds me to avoid this brewery like the plague! This is terrible! Do they know what a winter warmer is supposed to be? Maybe. It’s a sipper. And about all I can handle of this is a sip! Looks good enough, standard brown red, without much of a head. The nose is okay. A bit of chocolate powder, small sweetness, and earthy. Like dirt. Or dirty beer? And then maybe a bit rusty? A bit fizzy in the mouth. A big towards the creamy side. The flavor seems okay at first. Creamy and sweet, but then it sinks in after that split second. Crappy crappy cola like abbrasiveness, a bit of Dimetap. Maybe some chocolate? I don’t know, this leaves a metallic to dirty grimy flavor in the mouth. I hate this beer. And it’s too acidic. Bad beer.

Black with transluscent, ruby edged with a medium beige head. Smell is cocoa, cardboard and metallic. Taste is cocoa at first, but soon after a stale cardboard like flavor kicks in with a metallic finish and aftertaste. Body is a bit thin, but not overly, and although it doesn’t taste terrible, there are some slight off flavors that detract. Drinkable, and not as bad as I expected.

12 oz bottle just purchased at Lueken’s in Dunedin, FL. Pours kind of dark brown and dirty with thin tan head. The aroma is bits of roasty and burnt malts hidden under a musty blanket of oxidation. The taste is just the same as the aroma with roasty malts, burnt malts, a splash of chocolate milk, malt sweetness and then a big roll of old wet cotton throw rug. Not so good.
