Single sample, after their Maple Nut Brown debacle I couldn’t convince myself into getting an entire six pack...turned out to be the right call. Pours a dark brown with a fizzy head that quickly vanishes. No lacing and very minimal carbonation. Lush chocolaty aroma, very sweet to the nose. Flat and thin, poor mouth feel to say the least. Flavor is rich and rather nice. Heavy cocoa, reminds me of liquid Tootsie Rolls. A dash of maple syrup and honey along with an extremely faint bitterness. Overly sweet that tends to work out, My senses couldn’t handle more than one of these at a time even if it were a much better beer.

Very dark brown to black in color with an ok head. Sweet smell you can smell and taste the cocoa powder. Seems a little artifically sweet.

(Bottle) Pours a dark burgundy body with a small beige head. Aroma of cocoa, roastiness, and honey. Flavor of cocoa, lactic, and roasted malt. An easy drinker.

12 oz. bottle from Broudy’s at Jax Beach. Pours a nice dark color with a light tan head. Aroma is all cocoa. Taste has a powdered cocoa tinge to it with a little bit of the usual porter follow up. A good porter...if you’re a girl. I’ll pass on this one next time.

Very dark brown body with a light brown sand colored head. The aroma is Swiss Miss hot chocolate with some light notes of caramel. The taste is light diet chocolate soda with some coffee flavored candy in the finish. There is also some root beer barrel candy, but not in a pleasant way. Overall, this is a strangely thin brew for a winter porter.

Nice aroma of malt, chocolate, roated malt, touch of honey. Poured a mahogany with a small, thin head. Left light lacing. Flavor is a dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa with a light touch of honey. Light in body, thin texture, very light carbonation, a long bitter then sweet finish that is pleasant. This is a nice beer. Its enjoyable flavor is predominently cocoa. I like it, but it is very thin and light and I like a bit of a head on my beer with some carbonation, both of which lack in this. A nice beer, definitely worth a try. I like it, but would rather have a Mackeson’s. Will definitely have again.

Pours a slightly ruby, dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is malty and sweet, of chocolate. It literally tastes like cocoa powder. It’s quite good and chocolatey. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, though. 12 oz. bottle.

Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of semi-sweet cocoa powder and roasted malts with some earthiness and peat. Body starts a little thinner than expected but the carbonation helps to thicken it. Lots of sweet cocoa flavor with decent balance of mild bittering hops toward a lingering milk chocolatey sweetness. A pretty unique beer and I could see how some people might not like it, but the sweet chocolate character reminds me of drinking the milk in my cereal bowl after eating Cocoa Krispies, which is a good thing.
