12oz bottle: Deep brown/red color, crystal clear, with smallish creamy light tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma has sour cherries, bit of chocolate and vanilla, slight metallic notes. Flavor has a bit of chocolate, cherries, and molasses up front, but quickly gives way to a striking chemically, lactic tartness that makes you pucker up throughout the finish. My first thought was that this was infected, but it seems like others have noted this as well. Not sure if this was just a bad batch, or if they were trying for this, but eitherway it doesn’t come off well.

looks very nice, a slightly creamy looking dark brown body and a thin off white head that gives this a very guiness like look. nose is all chocolate with just a hint of vanila. flavor is pretty much the same, except for a slightly unpleaseant acidic tartness that finishes off the flavor and persists through the aftertaste. dont know yet if this is spoiled, i have some more bottles and may do a rerate later

Clear dark body, tan head, dry chocolatey aroma, terrible flavour. All charred malt, with a little funk & some sour milk. Acidic, nasty, biley. Ugh.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark sepia brown with an off white head. has great lacing. There’s not much of a chocolate aroma, but the chocolate flavor is very rich and nice. I like it.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pors dark with a one finger thick tan head. Aroma is sour, roast, and slight chocolate. The flavor is slight chocolate, funk, and roast. I thought i would have enjoyed this brew, it looked great, and i love porters, but this was not that pleasant.

Aroma initially started out fantastic, but soon got a slight sour/metalic aroma as it warmed. The same can be said about the taste, it was initally fantastic when it was really cold, but I let it warm too long (though it was only about half an hour) and it ended up being a chore to finish.
